Since 2002 I have been passionately sharing with my television audience, mothers-of-preschooler groups, yoga retreat gatherings, women of faith ministries, and my fitness family how to transform their health and happiness all while finding JOY in the journey.

What is the 80/20 Lifestyle?

I created The 80/20 Lifestyle 13 years ago to balance my passion for indulgent Southern food with my commitment to living a healthy life and to teach my children healthy nutritional parameters.  The 80/20 Lifestyle is making “Clean” healthy lifestyle choices 80% of the time while saving 20% for a guilt free indulgence. 

What is Clean Eating?

Clean Eating is a simple, common-sense approach to diet and nutrition. It’s roots lie in sensible, nutritious eating with an emphasis on eating the way nature intended.  Eating, what I refer to as First Generation Foods, or whole foods that are minimally processed, refined, and handled. 

Clean Eating is a wonderful lifestyle that supports natural weight loss without starvation, or relatively effortless maintenance, but, regardless of your reasons for Eating Clean, this lifestyle will have you feeling better than you ever have.

So, how do I make these and other lifestyle changes?

She began to measure herself in CONTENTMENT and LAUGHTER rather than inches and pounds and when the contentment and laughter was scarce that became okay too!

My transformation took place 13 years ago when I saw a glimmer of hope in a moment of desperation. 

My entire young adult life (15 to 36) I was in search of something… an illusive, unattainable idea of who and what I thought I was suppose to be. When I fully and completely let go of expectations, I was able to build a new life, a new relationship with my food and fitness and I fell in Love with my journey! Although everyday is not perfect, I have learned to find growth in the challenges and JOY in the JOURNEY!
